America’s Got Talent - Season 18 - Auditions 2
It’s time for another week of Auditions on America’s Got Talent.
Who will win over the judges? Who will get buzzed? Who will get a golden buzzer. Let’s find out!
Lambros Garcia - Kid Dancer
He’s a 10 year old dancer who took up karate but later switched to dance after hearing the music in a dance class next to the karate studio. He wants to win AGT so he can buy a dog. I wish kids would stop overusing that as their reason.
I really don’t know what dance style this is. Maybe jazz? He can dance. However it’s kind of amateurish. Give it a few years and he’ll be really good. However for a kid dancer, he’s fantastic.
After the routine, he gets emotional because he’s bullied in school. Howie told him he dances with such joy and precision. Sofia called his routine spectacular. Simon said he had natural stage presence, saying he was amazing. 4 Yeses
Sainted Trap Choir - Choir
They’re a choir from North Carolina. Just like their name suggests, they sing trap songs. This is Gonna be interesting.
They do their medley of various songs. As someone who hates trap music, I’m surprised I actually like this. Probably one of the most unique acts I’ve ever seen on AGT
Howie calls it young and exciting, and says they should be at Coachella. Heidi loves the outfits and choreography. Sofia calls it creative. Simon loved everything about it. 4 Yeses!
Ramadhani Brothers - Head Balancers
Well after last week’s hand balancing disaster. Why not feature a head balancing act. Fbis act comes from East Africa, and this is their first time in America.
Before they begin, they being out a ladder right next to the judges table, and bolt it to the stage. Don’t try this at home.
Ok, yes this takes skill, and I admire them for doing this, but stuff like this really isn’t appealing. I don’t get it. This isn’t something that would hold my attention during a Vegas show. Unlike the hand balancers from last week, they actually nail their act.
Howie called it the scariest most dangerous act he’s ever seen on AGT. Heidi called it amazing, and Sofia called it spectacular and exciting. Simon called it unbelievable and close to perfection. 4 Yeses
Virginia Stone - Husband caller
She’s from Iowa and used to be a commercial pilot, but she currently competes in Hog and Husband calling at the Iowa state fair. Okie Dokie. Her act is definitely what it sounds like. Calling hogs, then calling Simon. Yea it was terrible, but I laughed a good five minutes over this. 4 Nos
AvantGardey - Dance group
They’re a dance group from Japan. Heidi welcomes them to America and asks questions about them eating burgers.
They dance completely in sync and it’s very unique. I really don’t get the meaning behind the routine, but they’re really good.
Heidi liked that they thought outside the box. Sofia loved the act because it was something they’ve never seen. Simon called it genius. 4 Yeses
Putri Ariani - Singer
She’s a singer from Indonesia who actually won Indonesia’s got talent. She’s 17 and she’s blind. She jokes she’s been singing since she was born. Her dream is to become a world famous Grammy winning superstar.
She sings an original song, and has a fantastic soulful pop voice, really something we don’t have right now. I honestly think she may win.
After her performance Simon walks up on fine stage and asks her to sing a second song. She sings Elton John’s Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word, and it’s just as great as her first song.
Sofia said it was amazing, and called her an angel. Howie said she was a superstar. Simon says she has an amazing, distinctive voice. And there is it, Simon Hits the Golden Buzzer! Putri is through to the live shows!
Mandy Muden - Comedian and Magician
She’s from London and is a comedian and magician. She explains it isn’t easy being a female magician. She says if she wins she’ll spend her million dollar prize on men.
She has the judges except Simon get letters out of a bag and instructs them not to look at them. She had Simon open a book and look at the page number and first word with sole clever innuendos. She tells Simon to think of a word and has them look at different places in books they were given. It’s a clever trick and she’s hilarious.
Howie says she’s a great magician and she’s funny. Heidi calls her adorable. Simon really likes her. 4 Yeses
Zoe Erianna Cui - Kid Singer
Zoe is 6 and she tells Terry she wants a big bed with fluffy pillows and a convertible if she wins. Ok she’s cute I’ll give her that, but some of this kids acts are too rehearsed.
She sings Lady Gaga’s Born this Way. Ok she’s actually a decent singer for a 6 year old, but this comes off at too pageant-y.
Sofia says she’s one of her favorite contestants ever. Heidi likes her presence. Howie calls her a baby version of Lady Gaga. Simon says she’s fearless, brave, and talented. 4 Yeses
Muhammad Kahrimanovic - Guinness World record holder.
He’s retired and lives in Germany and is attempted to break his own coconut breaking record.
Ok this is stupid and a waste of time. Well he didn’t break the record, which was 148, and he only got 23. Simon even buzzed him. 4 nos
Mitch Russell - Country singer
He grew up with his dad introducing him to country music. When he was 10 he lost his dad, grandmother-in-law, and grandfather in a drunk driving accident. Wow his dad and grandmother in law, and his grandfather were in two separate cars.
He’s doing an original song called, “Son.” He isn’t only a great country singer, but also a great songwriter. I don’t think I’ve ever been this touched over an audition on this show before.
Howie predicts the song will be the number one downloaded country song after the show airs(He’s right!). Simon calls it a great audition. 4 Yeses
Ray Wold - Fire performer
He’s a 64 year old fire performer. He brings his mom along for the audition. Not Simon thinking they were married! Wow!!!
I’m not sure what the concept is. It’s a fire act, He somehow sets himself in fire. Ok it’s part of the act. I mean I guess this is okay. Not Vegas worthy, but it’s mildly amusing. Oh he’s throwing knives on fire at his mom. Howie buzzes him.
Heidi called it a hot mess. Sofia called his mom the star of the show. Howie said they he shouldn’t be throwing knives at his mom. Simon loved it. 3 Yeses
All in all, a strong second show. Big shoutout to Putri, Mitch Rossell and Sainted Trap choir for being the highlights of the night. I can’t wait until next week.
